Our Environmental Commitment

 

As a responsible construction company L. A. Construction (East Anglia) Limited is well aware of the impact our  activities can have on the environment and does it’s up most to source all of materials from sustainable sources.

Timber Frame Structures

We deal only with companies that meet our high expectations in terms of sustainability and as such all of the timber used in our timber frame structures has a full chain of custody certification and is from FSC and PEFC certified forests.

The manufacturing data for our timber frame range has been scrutinised by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) for environmental profiling (also known as Life Cycle Assessment).

The profiling shows that by mass, the OSB/3 accounts for 94% of the buildings environmental impact. As a result of sequestered carbon (OSB/3 is manufactured from timber) OSB/3 has a positive impact on the overall environmental impact.

Waste Management

Of course our responsibilities are not limited to product sourcing but also to waste management. We are implementing systems to reduce our impact upon the environment including waste minimisation programmes to reduce the amount we send to landfill.
